Many new beginnings, many endings too. We are all temporary.
I was selected a HASTAC (the Humanities, Arts, Science, and Technology Alliance and Collaboratory) Scholar for the 2017-19 cohort. An “innovative student-driven community”, HASTAC is the “world’s first and oldest academic social network.” “We are building a community of students working at the intersection of technology and the arts, humanities and sciences.”
Here is our first Twitter chat. A month later Storify announced it was going out of business. Then the New Media Center announced bankruptcy and the Pacifica Foundation is teetering. It’s an understatement to say the American media landscape was transformed in 2017, and with it our mediated lives.
